There are many ways to invest in yourself. Most of the time we equate this with spending a good amount of money. But money is only one fraction of what it takes.

One of the most important way to invest in yourself is education. Now I am not talking about going back to school. Although that may be something to consider. What I am referring to is keeping up with what is going on around you. Reading the daily paper and other periodicals is one of the easiest ways to do that. Immerse yourself in articles that feed what you are passionate about.

Of all the things that you will have in your lifetime, knowledge is the only one that can never be taken away from you by anyone. This knowledge that you acquire is yours alone to be used at your discretion. It is also one of the few possessions that is extremely envied by others. You will know this when your peers try to copy what it is you are doing. And do not be too surprised if your boss wants to know what it is you have been up to as well.

When you invest in expanding your knowledge, it will become apparent to everyone around you. You will navigate your way through all aspects of you life differently. It will be the equivalent of having a new window opened. A new light will shine upon the old situations you encountered , and your reactions will reflect the new enlightened YOU.

The people around you may question why you are reacting differently. They do not need to know what it is you are or have been doing to create such a change in your behavior. The only people who are allowed to know what you are doing is completely at your discretion.

Share with others only what you think they can handle at any given time. Realize that not everyone will spend the time you have in investing in themselves. That will be their loss in the future even though they may think they do not need to do so. Keep investing in yourself, the rewards of doing so will serve you well as time goes on.
