Over the past 27 days I have highlighted those black people from the past. Today I would like to introduce you all to Mr. Mark Dean.

Mr. Dean was born on March 2,1957 in Jefferson City,Tennessee. Shortly after he graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in Engineering, he was hired by IBM. He proved to be a rising star at IBM. He developed a number of landmark technologies for IBM including the color PC monitor. He also developed the first gigahertz chip.Working with Dennis Moeller, he also developed the ISA Industry Standard Architecture system bus that allowed for computer plug-ins such as disk drives and printers.

His most famous quote:” Most kids growing up aren’t told that you can be whatever you want to be. There may be obstacles but there are no limits.”

It is my greatest hope that I may have educated some of you reading my blog. For others I hope I may have sparked some interest in looking up other black people who contributed our current lifestyle and the things we take for granted on a daily basis.
