One of the most powerful processes you can take on is the one of visualizing where you want to be. This is best accomplished by creating a board that shows all of the goals that you have in mind. By placing all of your goals and dreams on the board, it prevents you from losing sight of goals that may be smaller in stature than others.

A couple of years ago, I started thinking about writing. I would post something every other day on each of my social media platforms. But doing that was extremely time consuming. It was taking me two hours on those days to complete my posts on Facebook,LinkedIn and Twitter. On my vision board I placed a picture of a pen. This kept me thinking about a way to streamline my writing into a more formal format. At the time I had larger concerns to deal with. A water break in my upstairs bathroom took center stage. It lasted only a few minutes but created quite a mess. It took out my kitchen ceiling and floor. My first floor was engulfed in fans and vacuums to eliminate the remaining water.

I spent a lot of my time trying to locate people to repair the damage that water break had done. One day while I was searching for a handyman, I looked at my board and saw the pen. It had been almost two weeks since I had written anything. I decided I really needed to write. I started my journey on Facebook where I noticed a fellow writer had an extremely professional looking post. I was intrigued. I just had to know how he had done this. Even if it was out of my budget, I decided that I would just have to save up for whatever it was.

I sent him a message asking him how he got his post to look that fantastic. He was very generous with his time. He told me that he wrote a blog. This was something I had never considered doing. He gave me all of the information I needed to get started. Two years later, and over two thousand followers later, I am able to publish my content immediately to all of my social media platforms.

At the time I thought about my writing as a small goal. I did have a vision of getting my content out to all of my social media platforms without it taking up the bulk of my day! Without that pen on my board I might have lost sight of what i really wanted to do. What is your vision for your future?
