When you hold a sea shell to your ear you are supposed to hear the ocean. It is a sound not everyone can hear. Some people hold the shell to their ear and hear the melodious hum of the ocean waves as they caress a distant shore. Others hold the shell in anticipation of hearing something and come away with nothing from the experience.

Which one are you? Are you the person open to hearing something unexpected? Or are you the person so focused on what you are expecting to hear that you miss what is being presented?

If you are open to hearing something new then you will be able to take advantage of opportunities when they present themselves. The person expecting things to appear in a certain way will be unable to recognize an opportunity when it presented.
